Ri-Made Eco
INNOVATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

We have created Ri-Made Eco, the first product of a new line of concrete materials using G-MIX, a granular blend of polymers from recycled non-hazardous post-consumer plastics. Ri-Made Eco is mainly used for self-locking paving by replacing, in a certain percentage of the total, commonly used aggregates. This project has been designed to comply with the latest regulatory restrictions and to bring to the market a product with high performance but, above all, a strong impact on environmental sustainability. Our research and development department was able to develop a lightweight, high-performance mixture for self-locking paving.

ECO-SUSTAINABILITY

The plastic material comes 100% from the recycling of non-hazardous post-consumer plastics, so its use avoids the increase of landfill material and the sourcing of new non-renewable raw materials (e.g. natural stones such as river gravel, quartz and granite).

LIGHTNESS

The weight of a self-locking paving element made from Ri-Made Eco is significantly less than that of a traditional element made from sand and cement.

FLEXIBILITY

Recycled plastic material can be used in different percentages in self-locking concrete pavements, without a substantial decrease in the mechanical performance of the pavement itself.

REDUCTION OF HEAT ISLAND EFFECT

The inherent thermal conductivity of the polymer mixture allows self-locking pavings made with Ri-Made Eco to absorb less solar energy, maintaining a lower paving temperature and thus reducing the heat island effect.

At Micheletto, we believe that change is necessary, that something concrete must be done to help improve this negative situation, that a small gesture must be made that can add up to more actions shared by any category or sector. Ri-Made represents a line of products especially designed to try to make a contribution to environmental sustainability without diminishing the quality and performance of our products. With Ri-Made Eco we want to present the market with a first novelty that favours both the professional and ecological aspects, a product that maintains good performance and uses recycled plastic material to reduce environmental pollution. We are aware that the road to bringing real improvements to the environment will be long and complex, but we are also convinced that these first steps are already a very good start.

PATENTED SYSTEM

The GMIX material is just one of the recycled materials used in Micheletto paving, and is part of a general context of environmental awareness. While the recycled materials commonly used in self-locking concrete paving are reused raw materials from other products usually used in construction, the use of plastic material with a considerably lower density compared to classical raw materials allows a considerable reduction in the weight of the paving, while maintaining the same aesthetic and technical characteristics. This undoubtedly facilitates the handling and laying of both the individual elements and the flooring as a whole.
